Just spent a week chasing intermittent zone faults on a 12-zone Daikin VRV. Comm cable was fine, controllers all responding, but two zones randomly drop off the bus when a third zone is in defrost.
Daikin tech support eventually walked me to a bad outdoor unit thermistor that was spiking signal. Six days I’ll never get back.
What’s the worst VRF/VRV/multi-zone job you’ve had to debug?
