Bought a house in October that has a heat pump (looks like a Goodman, maybe 6-7 years old). First real cold snap and the thing has been running essentially nonstop. Indoor temp is set to 68 and it’s holding 66.
Electric bill came in at almost double what the previous owner told me to expect.
Is the unit broken or is this just what heat pumps do? Previous owner had a gas furnace listed in the disclosure, but the system in the basement now is an air handler. So I think they swapped at some point.
