Lennox 14ACX, 8 years old, started cooling weakly two weeks ago. Tech came out, hooked up gauges, said the TXV is failing and it’s $1,400 to replace including refrigerant.
Is this a real diagnosis? Is $1,400 reasonable? I want to make sure I’m not being upsold before I cut a check.
